Facts about the
Michigan
Convention of Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous
Published by the MCYPAA Advisory Council
(MCYPAAAC) November 1996Revised: 3/13/00
Aims and Purposes
Our primary purpose is to stay sober and help other
alcoholics to achieve sobriety. We direct our attention towards young people
by providing the Michigan Convention of Young People in AA, which meets
annually on the weekend after Thanksgiving. Experience has shown MCYPAA as a
prime opportunity for young people to participate and share their experience
within AA as a whole.
We encourage all AA’s, Alanons, A.C.o.A’s and Ala-Teens to participate in
and support MCYPAA. Non-alcoholics are also welcome to attend all open
meetings to further public awareness and understanding of alcoholism.

The Eastern
Area Convention of Young People in Alcoholics Anonymous meets annually. The
convention provides an opportunity for A.A.’s from all over the Eastern Area
and all over the world, to come together and share their experience,
strength, and hope as members of A.A. EACYPAA is overwhelming evidence that
large numbers of people are achieving a lasting and comfortable sobriety in
Alcoholics Anonymous. Like any other convention, it is an opportunity to
learn more about the program and sobriety.
