CAMPOUT IN THE U.P.

WHERE: Mouth of the Big Two Hearted River on the shore of Lake Superior
LOCATED: 35 miles north of Newberry/30 miles west of Paradise
Things to do: RECOVER FIRST!! Camp, Have fun, fishing, swimming, canoeing, hiking, campfire meetings. We will have a group canoe trip for those that want it. To reserve a canoe, call Rainbow Lodge at 906-658-3357. RESERVE EARLY!!
Camping is 10.00 per night. Canoes are $30.00 for 1 1/2 hr. trip and $35.00 for the 4 to 6 hr. trip. RESERVE YOUR CANOE EARLY!! The campground is rustic-pit toilets, no showers, no electricity, and no reservations. We are not cooking-so if you want to eat- you cook!!
DIRECTIONS:
From the West: M-28 to M-123 (Newberry): M-123 North to Co RD 500. Turn left on Co Rd 500. (Co Rd 500 is west of the entrance to the Upper Tahquamenon Falls) Follow the signs to the Rainbow Lodge.
From the South: 1-75 to M-123, M-123 North to Paradise. Continue on M-123 thru Paradise to Co Rd 500. Turn right on Co Rd 500. (Co Rd 500 is west of the entrance to the Upper Tahquamenon Falls) Follow signs to Rainbow Lodge.
From the East: M-28 to M-123 (Eckerman) north to Paradise. Continue on M-123 thru Paradise to Co Rd 500. Turn right on Co Rd 500. (Co Rd 500 is west of the entrance to the Upper Tahquamenon Falls)
HINTS:
Once you turn off M-123 onto Co Rd 500 it is a 16-mile trip (about 1/2 hr) on all dirt roads. The campground is a State Forest campground just past the Rainbow Lodge.
